The School for Grassroots Organizing is an opportunity to learn the theory and skills of organizing for social justice in our communities. Starting in winter 2003, this year marks the 6th annual SGRO, with over 30 graduates working with progressive community organizations, unions, and movements for social justice and liberation internationally.
The sessions will run on Sundays from 1 – 4, and the practice sessions will be planned throughout the School months of Jan – March according to the schedules of the participants. For more information on the topics in each particular session, please see the attached brochure. The application deadline is January 3rd, and participants will receive notification of acceptance and their SGRO packages on January 8. SGRO participants are required to attend every session and to participate in a variety of practical training activities with their host organization. This is an amazing opportunity to learn, in a relaxed and participatory environment, what you’ll never learn in any formal educational institution!
