The APH has an ongoing partnership with the Council for Health and Development to link health workers to organized communities in struggle for health and social justice in both rural and urban communities in the Philippines.
In 2008, 3 organizers from the Alliance for People’s Health, participated in an integration with Community Based Health Programs with the movement for national and social liberation in the Philippines. Martha Roberts, a midwife and founding member of the Alliance for People’s Health, integrated for 7 months with her family.
Visit Martha’s blog to learn about her and her family’s rich experiences working with the community as well as for updates on the political situation in the Philippines:

In 2011 the Alliance for People’s Health is planning a return to the Philippines in a Community Health Worker ‘Training Tour’ to support the advancement of the people-run alternative health care system, in coordination with the Council for Health and Development (CHD) and the Negros Island Health Integrated Project (NIHIP).
If you would like to support this delegation of Canadians traveling & training in solidarity with Filipino Community Health Workers, please send the APH and e-mail for more information.
